Investment Casting

Custom development · Small batches · Gr.2 / Gr.5

Founded in 2007, Chi Tai Technology specializes in titanium alloy investment (lost-wax) casting. We develop custom parts from your 2D drawings, 3D files or physical samples, with one dedicated contact from evaluation to delivery. Complex shapes are cast in one piece, in small batches and many varieties.

Why Titanium

From the scissors on your desk to rockets in space, titanium alloys are everywhere. They combine high strength with low density and resist high and low temperatures as well as strong acids and alkalis, earning the nickname “space metal.”

Light

LOW DENSITY

Roughly 60% the density of steel, cutting weight while keeping structural strength.

Strong

HIGH STRENGTH

An excellent strength-to-weight ratio for parts that must be both light and durable.

Tough

CORROSION RESISTANT

Resists strong acids and alkalis and does not easily rust in most environments.

Stable

TEMPERATURE RANGE

Performs under high and low temperatures across a wide range of operating conditions.

Common grades
Gr.2 · Gr.5

Gr.2 is commercially pure titanium with excellent corrosion resistance; Gr.5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is a higher-strength titanium alloy. Whether it is a product we developed ourselves or a customer-specified design, we start from the material’s characteristics to find the right approach.

Investment Casting

Investment casting, also known as lost-wax or precision casting, starts with a wax pattern that is coated into a shell. The wax is melted out and molten metal is poured in. It suits complex, highly detailed parts and produces a fine surface finish that can reduce subsequent machining.

  1. Requirements

We review 2D drawings, 3D files or samples for feasibility and discuss development options with you.

  2. Tooling & Wax

Tooling is made with our partner mold makers, then wax patterns are produced.

  3. Shell & Dewax

The wax pattern is coated into a shell, then the wax is removed, leaving a cavity of the part.

  4. Titanium Pouring

Titanium alloy is melted and poured into the shell; the casting is removed after cooling.

  5. Machining & QC

Finishing is done with our partner machining shops, followed by inspection before shipment.

* This describes the general investment casting process; actual practice varies by product.

Products & Applications

Besides developing our own products, we also accept custom orders. Here are some of our product categories.

Titanium machinery hardware

Titanium Machinery Hardware

Valves, fittings, flanges and a wide range of mechanical components. Titanium’s corrosion resistance suits parts exposed to acids, alkalis or moisture.

Frequently Asked

What people most often ask before their first inquiry. For anything else, feel free to call or write.

Can you handle small quantities?

Yes. Small-batch, multi-variety production is our strength. We produce many varieties in small quantities to your specification, which makes us a good fit for custom development projects.

What do I need to send? What if I don’t have a drawing?

2D drawings, 3D files or physical samples all work. If you only have an idea, get in touch anyway — we will review feasibility and discuss development options with you.

Which materials do you work with?

Our common grades are Gr.2 (commercially pure titanium) and Gr.5 (Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy). We start from the material’s characteristics, your application and your specification to find the right approach.

How large a part can you cast?

Single parts up to about 10 kg. Feasibility depends on size and geometry, so send us a drawing or sample for evaluation.

Can you also take care of machining after casting?

Yes. We work with long-term, qualified machining partners; parts are finished and inspected before shipment, and you deal with one point of contact throughout.

How are lead time and quality managed?

One dedicated contact handles everything from quotation to delivery, with no messages passed through layers. Lead time and progress can be confirmed at any time, and parts are inspected before shipment.

What kinds of products can you make?

Our work includes golf club heads, machinery hardware (valves, fittings, flanges), bicycle and automotive parts, medical devices, watch cases, 3C electronics, jewelry and sports & leisure equipment. If your part isn’t listed, send us a drawing or sample to discuss.
